2.3 on the App Store
It’s been awhile since this was last updated. I’m pleased to announce that MW2 Stat Tracker and MW Stat Tracker have been rebranded and successfully updated on the App Store. They are both now officially known as MW2 Kills XD and MW1 Kills XD. The XD signifies that the app is iPad ready, and was made with Extra Dragons.
WAW Stat Tracker will have the same rebranding and will become WAW Kills XD, but it hasn’t been pushed to Apple yet. KZ2 Stat Tracker will indeed get this same treatment. If you are a user of either of those two software packages, be looking at your App Store updates in the next two weeks.
I have a couple of tweaks in the pipeline and a new feature in the works. Be looking for those as well.
Thank you for being a loyal customer. I appreciate all user feedback, good and bad, and I will contact you back if you have any questions or issues.
PS: I enjoy reading the awesomely good reviews on the App Store pages
Bye now, and thanks for visiting!
Update Info
It’s important to remember that this update will be free to all who purchased any version of Call of Duty Stat Tracker. Even though these were removed from the store, they weren’t deleted by Apple. They only sat dormant for two and a half months waiting to be reactivated.
Now that I submitted new updates to these, they will be able to be updated like normal through iTunes and the iPhone OS.
What’s new:
- Google Spreadsheet Integration for uploading to Google Docs
- A detailed breakdown of per map stats (user editable as well)
- Add/Remove variants & map names (MW2 still has pending DLC, and it’s possible to play modded maps on the PC for MW1 and WAW)
- In-app browser to view Google Docs and see what you’ve uploaded
Like before, there is still support for more than one gamertag, and the ability to export to CSV remains intact.
The Glorious Return to the App Store
Today is a great day, and is marked by the return of my original iPhone and iPod touch software to Apple’s App Store. I had to remove these apps from the store after I got into some legal trouble with Activision for using the specific phrase “Call of Duty” in my app names. Seems they thought I was trying to profit from their trademark. I was a little wrong in thinking that if I didn’t use any official logos, I would be ok. Not so.
So, the three apps that were:
- Call of Duty 4 Stat Tracker
- Call of Duty 5 Stat Tracker
- Call of Duty 6 Stat Tracker
Have now become :
- MW Stat Tracker
- WAW Stat Tracker
- MW2 Stat Tracker
After consulting with a lawyer, I am now confident that my apps are not in violation of any trademark. Add also the fact that “MW2 Pwn” has been at the top of the app store for a couple of weeks, it’s apparent that Activision does not own the trademarks for the letters “COD” or “MW2”. Therefore, I have resubmitted new versions (*with great new functionality) to the App Store.
These apps will be priced at $0.99 and the big brother app, FPS Stat Tracker, will be priced once again at $1.99. Until they are added back to the store, FPS Stat Tracker will be at the sale price of $0.99.
The new version of each app is now a miniature FPS Stat Tracker, but only for one game. Game variants and map names can be added and removed (which will be useful for when DLC map packs are available, or if you play modded maps). It may seem pointless for both Modern Warfare 1 and World at War, but Modern Warfare 2 still has DLC pending.
Also, there is now a detailed breakdown of stats for each map played, just like in FPS Stat Tracker. This info is all editable.
There is an in-app web browser to effortlessly connect to Google Docs and view what’s been uploaded.
Last, but certainly not least, and what truly sets these gems apart, is the Google Spreadsheet integration. Instead of exporting a CSV (which is still supported), you have the option of sending each game over to your Google Docs account. This way, you can easily sort through your data just like in any other spreadsheet.
